Located in Wujj, K’Fintria is an ancient civilization new to space travel. The Finks have always been focused on the world immediately around them, having very little natural curiosity, only exploring and expanding out of absolute necessity. Their modern planetary unity is very loose and fragile, only existing officially, and even then with severe limits. Fink society, culture, politics, and economy remain very divided among major categories and major regions. Although it has ventured into its system on a small scale, K’Fintria’s efforts mainly focus on improving its planet and life for its people. K’Fintria has for centuries understood genetics on an advanced level, continually refining and improving their knowledge and using it to the best of their ability. Their genetic engineering capabilities, however, are a crutch for the Finks. They hold K’Fintria back while also being the civilization’s greatest asset. They try to solve every societal problem through genetic engineering even though practically and realistically not every problem can be solved through genetic engineering. Those who try to point out this fact are widely shunned by Fink society and often are cast out from the sciences. Fink genetic engineering is considered their most valuable asset, an idea reinforced when traders from the Alliance of the Strip encountered them and paid large sums for highly genetically engineered Fink plants. K’Fintria prefers limited contact with outsiders and is not too comfortable with other species. A very small number of Fink have left the planet and become traders in the Alliance of the Strip, most notably the infamous poison salesman Uklenttot.
Located in the system it is named after, Co’ozedyun is an ancient civilization new to space travel. Co’ozedyun is the civilization name the Co’ocoons have given to their civilization, based on the system of the same name. Their home planet is referred to Co’ozek. Co’ocoon society had forever been ruled by extreme greed and exploitation, exploration being motivated more often by pure greed rather than curiosity. Through the ages and progression of technology, the exploitation became more and more brutal, progressive movements and ideas being violently and swiftly oppressed. A century and a half after the Cunic Industrial Revolution, a violent, unstoppable revolution swept across the planet, workers and marginalized people rising up against the oppressive systems that had controlled them all their lives. What followed was the infamous Era of Blood, a 123-year period of untold violence in Cunic history, in which the global population decreased by 18%. For the first 87 years, the world was ruled by violence and chaos, power consolidated in small warlords thirsty for blood and power. However, after 3 generations of violence, degradation, and most of all fear, a handful of rulers across the globe consolidated power promising kindness, safety, freedom, and promising to unite the world and make it greater than it ever had been before. These “Peacebringers” were extremely popular among the Cunic people, eventually uniting the world under their rule in the final 36 years of the Era of Blood. After the conquest was complete, the 3 surviving Peacebringers, Jaro Umlik Thekno, Ghuntin Sleptep Qanto, and Yuni Arattin Belull, united their empires into the single Global Cunic Republic, and held the first free elections on the planet in over 150 years. Qanto, and Belull were of course the primary candidates, Qanto winning by a slim margin. Jaro Umlik Thekno retired shortly before the election, living out their years as a subsistence farmer with their husband. Ghuntin Sleptep Qanto, meanwhile, led the GCR into a glorious new era, reforming the planet and instilling values of universal kindness, love, and cooperation. Under the leadership of Ghuntin Sleptep Qanto, Yuni Arattin Belull, Asaq Jilop Retuu, Hybbick Volto Mulpo, and Beezop Skrunklo Thekno, all of whom had strong ties to the Peacebringers, Co’ozek became a paradise. After a couple of status quo GCR presidents, a new president took office under the bold goal of conquering the stars. Lupep Sultan Addog and his successor, Steiv Maku Belull, lead the Cunic people into a frenzy of space exploration and expansion. The first colonies on the nearby planet of Unucraa were built. They had first, second, and third contact with a nearby space-faring civilization who called themselves the United Nations of the Galaxy, a vast yet mysterious stellar empire who claimed to have democracy as their core belief. The colonies on Unucraa grew, the planet’s population reaching 1,000 Co’ocoons. It was at this point that the Global Cunic Republic claimed the entire Co’ozedyun system, rebranding itself as the Republic of Co’ozedyun and drafting plans to colonize all of the system’s planets and begin trying to engineer a way to harness the energy of the Co’ozedyun star. The changes, called The Solar Plan, passed the Cunic parliament with a 352-298 majority. Co’ozedyun steps into the future with their heads held high, the people having faith in their leadership and the leaders having faith in their people. Though they may be small and new to the galaxy, they are competent and capable with fiery spirits, even being secretly feared by the UNG due to their staggeringly fast progress and unity. However, the paradise of Co’ozek is beginning to see some cracks. Firstly, the issue of space travel, especially at the expected pace, is very divisive among Co’ocoon, and creates and highlights many other divides. Secondly, some greedy politicians are beginning to put themselves ahead of the well-being of the people. Will this lead to another Era of Blood as some Co’ocoon believe? Or will the Cunic’s extreme emphasis on dialogue save them yet again, as many such as the Order of Peacekeepers believe?
