The Free Valins started a rebellion 12 years ago in the Dominion of Treysaria. After 5 years of fighting the Free Valins signed an armistice with the Dominion. However they were only able to free two of the three Valin systems. Valnai still lies within the hands of the Dominion. After the armistice the Valins organized government but it fell to corruption, and was eventually overthrown 1 year ago. Since then the provisional government has ruled. It is noted that the provisional government has been struggling to take care of its people. An organization known as Valin Nationalist Society has committed attacks on the military of the Dominion, and on government infrastructure in Valnai. President Naiz claims to have no connection with them, but her own son is a member, so this is doubtful.

Kzix Pact

The Kzix Pact formed 27 years ago as a union between the Meddlin and Ploic Empires, which had for centuries been on friendly terms with each other. Negotiations for a formal alliance had started as early as 2926, but really picked up after the Meddlin Empire established a colony on Muli in 2943, strengthening the bond between the two nations by massive increasing trading ties, and really picked up after the Dominion threat reached the borders of the Meddlin and Ploic Empires in 2955. Since Kzix, the Ploic capital, was the largest and most economically prosperous system, it was long agreed to be the capital of their union and the center of the negotiations. It later became the namesake of the nation.

The Pact still remains heavily divided among Meddlin/Ploic lines, which does cause some problems, but because of historically good relations between the Meddlin and the Ploic peoples there is no racial tension. There is a great amount of fear of the Dominion and a possible Dominion invasion, which is a major reason why the Kzix Pact receives a significant amount of financial aid from the United Nations of the Galaxy. During the UNG's civil war, this financial aid ceased entirely, and many feared and prepared for a Dominion Invasion, but no such thing occurred. Ever since the civil war, the Kzix Pact has continued to receive financial aid from the UNG, but not nearly as much as before the civil war. The Kzix Pact is strong trading partners with the UNG, the Obadin Protectorate, the Belko Confederation, and the Alliance of the Strip, but has no diplomatic alliances with any of them.

Belko Empire

The Belko Empire is an absolute dictatorship led by Grand Thertum Biz-kek, a despot who seized the former Belko Confederation in a coup in 2947. Ever since then, they has passed oppressive laws to not only keep themself in power, but also to make life generally worse for most citizens of the Empire. They rule by fear, using extreme brutality to its maximum effectiveness. Almost immediately after gaining power they seized all industries and brought them under government control. In 2955 they began passing a series of laws designed to oppress ethnic minorities in the Empire and treat them as second-rate citizens. In 2963, the predominantly Human system of Ryv declared itself independent, citing a 20-page list of grievances against Grand Thertum Biz-kek, including rampant racial discrimination and Biz-kek's tyrannical actions. Biz-kek immediately sent a large fleet, which was crushed by rebel forces. Peace negotiations began immediately, and the system of Ryv was granted independent. In 2965, Biz-kek banned religion, declaring that such superstitious beliefs would be punishable by death. In 2977 Biz-kek banned gender in all contexts in the Belko Empire, effective 2979. In 2983, Grand Thertum declared that all ships traveling through the Belko Empire must have alcohol on board, domestic or not. After a UNG freighter was destroyed for not complying to this rule, all foreign relations between the UNG and the Belko Empire were severed, with the Alliance of the Strip, the Daylo Corporate, the Obadin Protectorate, and the rest of the galaxy soon following suit. Not much is known of the Belko Empire anymore. Intelligence agencies say that Grand Thertum Biz-kek's descent into madness continues, with a loosely-enforced clothing ban having recently been introduced. Many suspect another coup upcoming, with a great many wanting a return to democracy, racial equality, gender, and sane leadership.

Ryv Free State

Ideology: Theocracy

The Ryv Free State is an extremely religious state and is fundamentalist. It is 80% Human and known for being secretive and resourceful. It was established by a colonization movement focused on having a haven of Ryv Tey Huaa believers with no religious freedom. The Theocracy of Ryv was officially established in 2899, but was forcibly incorporated into the Belko Confederation in 2906. Ryv fought against Biz-kek's coup in 2947, but failed to stop it. They then fought for and won their independence in 2963, establishing the Ryv Free State. 16 years of dictatorial rule have changed Ryv, although it is at its roots all the same. It remains a very religious state with extremely Human values and a heavy majority Human population, but it will never return to the way it was before 57 years of Belko rule.

Obadín Protectorate

After suffering a 30 year long brutal dictatorship, the Obadín people formed a democratic representative government. They overthrew this dicatorship just 8 years ago. After their overthrowing they were offered membership in the UNG, but refused. Their home system being Patria, the Obadín people colonized the systems of Cas and Bayho. The Obadín are a very spiritual and religious people, and religion plays a big part in their country. The religious leader, the B'ta, has major influence over the country. A politician sponsored by the B'ta is likely to gain much more support. As a result politicians have started to lean more and more religious, and the country has been moving towards conservatism, and many religious sponsored laws have begun to pass.

Uu

After surviving a massive plague, and going through a decades long civil war, Uu is in a state of repair. The civil war ending just 6 years ago, in the year 2981, Uu recently went through the process of transitioning the government. The first election of the new government in Uu was held just this year, in early 2nd month. The new government has been attempting repair the country, but have not made much progress. There is a major famine on the Uu homeworld and the Shukati people have been dying of starvation. Relief efforts have been made by surrounding nations but the famine rages on as the government cannot properly organize the production of food. The people are beaten down and tired of constant struggle, with many moving to more prosperous places. Those that stayed have begun protesting, showing civil unrest did not end with the civil war.
