森の中に生えている『龍の髭』を植え替えて、曲がりくねった小路と大きな丸い庭を造る。でも一年もたつと小路と丸い庭は下草の中に埋もれてしまう。そこで下草を刈って、見えなくなった小路と庭を掘り返す。でも時が経つと小路と庭は下草に埋もれて見えなくなる。また下草を刈る。これを何年も繰り返す。

そんな作品の上に今年は円錐形の木の『しるし』を吊るしました。

The ``Dragon's Beard'' growing in the forest will be replanted to create a winding path and a large round garden. But after a year, the alley and round garden are buried in undergrowth.

　The Lordless Garden

ここ数年森の中に庭を作っています。ヤブ蘭の丸い庭です。展覧会が終わった庭は、次の夏までには沢山の草に覆われて埋まってしまいます。その状態から草刈り、草むしりをして庭を掘り起こします。そしてまたヤブ蘭を植えます。この繰り返し。掃除の様な作品です。

I have created a garden in the forest for these past several years. It is the round garden of YABURAN. After the exhibition ends, the garden will be covered with many glasses by the following summer. I dig up the garden mowing grass and weeding the garden from that state. Then YABURAN is planted.

This repetition. It is the art work such as the cleaning.

主なき庭 2021 

2016年から継続している、森の中に庭を造るプロジェクトです。森の小道から始めて、現在は、リュウノヒゲ、ヤブランの丸い庭を作っています。森の中に人の手による形を持ち込む。それが時間度と共に変化して無くなっていく。また手を入れて形をつくる。繰り返す事で、そこにどんな痕跡が現れるのか見てみたい。

Ownerless Garden 2021 

This is a project to build a garden within the forest, which has been ongoing since 2016. Starting from a forest path, I am now building a round garden of “dragon’s beard” grass (Ryunohige, Ophiopogon japonicus) and flowering lilyturf (yabran, Liriope muscari).

Impress a human shape into the forest. It changes over time and disappears. Then put one’s hand to the shape again. Repeating this process, I would like to see what kind of traces will appear over time.

「轍ーわだちー」制作年 2016-2020

森の中を、車輪の付いた棒を押して歩く。 ヤブランを植えた小路を蛇行しながら降りて行き、その先の大きな円を回って、再び 今来た小道を登る。登った先には小さな円があり、そこで U ターン。何度も繰り返す ことで次第に車輪の跡がつく。森の中のささやかな行為の跡が、空から見れば、ひと が描いた線のように見えたら、きっと楽しいだろう。

"Rut -Wadachi-" Production year 2016-2020

Walk through the woods by pushing a stick with wheels. Meander down the alley where you planted the lily turf, go around the big circle, and climb the alley you just came to. There is a small circle at the end of the climb, where you make a U-turn. By repeating this many times, you will gradually get a mark on the wheel. It would be fun if the traces of small acts in the forest look like lines drawn by humans when viewed from the sky.
