もり の はね の にわ 　／  　Forest Wing Garden 

幼少期のお気に入りのオモチャの一つが手のひら大のゼロ戦だった。

ヒトが作った羽をなぞりつつ、それを仲立ちにして様々な生き物たちから森の飛行術を学んでみたい。 

One of my favorite toys as a child was a palm-sized Zero fighter.

I would like to trace the wings made by humans and use them as a medium to learn how to fly in the forest from various creatures.

 The Journey of Ruined Boat II

ここ２年ほど倒木を観察していて、森の中で枯れ木が朽ちていくのが思っていた以上に速いのに驚かされた。

そこには多様な菌の働きがあるのだろう。この舟、ゆっくりと進むかと思いきや意外にスピードが出るようだ。

I was surprised that the speed of decaying dead trees in the forest is so fast than I thought while observing fallen trees for approximately these past two years.

There would be the function of a various bacteria there. This boat would move slowly or speed up unexpectedly.

朽ち舟の旅 

昨年から、「森を整備すること」と「モノをつくること」を出来るだけ一体化させる方法を探っている。今回は、落ちた枯れ枝を集めて舟をつくってみよう。朽ちるまでの時を進む舟はどんな旅をするのだろう。

Voyage on a Decaying Boat 

Since last year, I have been exploring ways to integrate “forest conservation” with “artwork production” as much as possible. This time, I collected fallen branches to build a boat. What kinds of voyages will this boat make until it decays? 

「倒木の庭」 

森を歩きまわると所々木が倒れているのに出くわす。 去年の台風か、ナラ枯れか、それとも寿命なのか。 倒れた木は、不意に現れた大きな裂け目のように森の中に独特な空間をつくる。 半ば森に沈んだ倒木のまわりの下草や低木を少しずつ払っていく作業は、感覚的 には「森」という素材から「倒木」というかたちを掘り出すという感じに近い。 その作業から生まれる空間は、人と自然を橋渡しする「庭」なのかもしれない。 あるいはこの作業は、いずれ朽ちて新たな芽吹きの養分になっていく木々への弔 いなのかもしれない。

"Garden of fallen trees"

As I walk around the forest, I come across trees that have fallen in places. Is it last year's typhoon, oak wilt, or lifespan? The fallen tree creates a unique space in the forest like a large rift that suddenly appears. The work of gradually removing the undergrowth and shrubs around the fallen trees that sank in the middle of the forest is similar to digging out the shape of "fallen trees" from the material of "forest". The space created by the work may be a "garden" that bridges people and nature. Or this work may be a tribute to the trees that will eventually decay and become nutrients for new buds.
