| happy
He loves the way Y/N humors him with his dramatic stories and how she smiles at his tale; if he makes her happy, he never wants to stop.| open
They'd have as honest / open of a relationship as they could without relaying confidential information regarding his job.| stress
Grey spends a great deal of his time out and about, doing business for Her Majesty. On days when he has free time to spend with Y/N, he’d rather stay inside and lay down with her, doing something relaxing like reading or just talking to her. He does have quite the stressful job, so whenever he's feeling particularly tense or anxious, they'd just relax and enjoy each other’s presence. He's very cheerful and happy around his lover but sometimes has lots on his mind and can actually get really serious. During these times, he prefers to stay in the comfort of her arms, so he doesn’t lose control.| insecurities
masculinity | Grey may act all gentle and sweet and considerate to her, especially in private, but he has the biggest complex; Y/N thinking he’s weak or 'girly.' It’s just a thing with him. He hates having her — or anyone, but especially her — think he’s vulnerable in any way. He absolutely cannot stand it; crying around her or seeming the least bit distressed (anxious / sad / scared / hurt as opposed to angry / frustrated) is so far out of the question that it barely registers as an option in his mind, even if he’s on the verge of a breakdown. It’s actually to the point where at least once he’s tried — maybe succeeded, maybe failed — to hide a bleeding wound from Y/N. He thinks he should be able to A) not get injured like that in the first place and B) take care of it on his own. He’s dead-ass unhealthy about this little complex of his, but his feelings are his feelings.someone like you | He’s always amazed at how someone like Y/N fell for someone like him. ❤️*good enough | He'd stop whatever he was doing at the moment and listen to everything Charmaine has to say regarding her insecurities. He understands the tones of an atmosphere and knows when he shouldn’t be interrupting; if she was talking about anything else, he might’ve interrupted to give his own opinion / advice / etc. But, judging by her downcast eyes and deep furrow in her brow, he knows to keep his mouth shut for the moment. He gives her a blank expression while she lets him know how she feels, which TBH might make her a bit more nervous about saying what she's saying because you never know what he’s gonna say really or it might just be my nervous ass because blank expressions scare me 😂 After she says her piece, it’s a little quiet for awhile. This makes Charmaine very nervous to look up, a little anxious to what his expression might be, maybe realizing that what she's saying is true and he shouldn’t bother with her anymore? The thought alone makes her stomach sink, and then her thoughts get interrupted when she hears him scoff. She looks up to see him shaking his head and walking much closer to Charmaine that if she were to stretch her arm, she wouldn’t be able to since he'd be in the way. The tight-lipped expression he has going on confuses Charmaine and she feels him grab her chin so she keeps her focus entirely on him and won’t move her eyes downward facing the ground. He doesn’t like when she does that, believing she should have the upmost confidence in herself because it's well-deserved and the whole speech Charmaine gave a moment ago made his blood boil, but not because of her. The anger is directed at whoever or whatever was done to her that made her feel this way. Though his tone of voice sounds a little frightening due to how monotone it is, she knows it’s not because he thinks her feelings are invalid or a waste of time. He just wants to be serious because this is a serious conversation to him and he needs to address a few things. She feels instantly comforted when she meets his eyes because there isn’t any sign that he's going to make a mockery of her feelings or call them foolish, because of the warmth that she can quite clearly see in the way his eyes are so soft when they stare down at her. He gives it to her straight, his opinion on the matter which hopes will put her insecurities and doubts to rest once in for all. He wouldn’t have bothered or pursued a relationship with her if it wasn’t worth of his time and effort. He wouldn’t have bothered to have a relationship with someone whom he didn't commit to being with 110%. He wouldn’t have bothered having a relationship with someone he didn’t regard as a beautiful and elegant soul that can hold such intelligent conversations and insight. He wouldn't bother to start a relationship that would leave him bored of the person in a few weeks' time or couldn’t handle his childish antics sometimes. She's worthy of the time and effort. He's a little upset with himself that he didn’t make it clearer to Charmaine but he likes to get to the point and make sure there are no doubts in this relationship that he has with her. The way that he gives her this whole speech, slowly moving the hold he has on her chin to rest on her waist to pull her closer to him allows her to melt into his embrace and feel a wave of peace overcome her with all her worried thoughts finally being put to rest. Charmaine never doubted his love and he'll make sure that she never does. The fact that she doubted her worth really makes him think about it for the next few days when they're both lying in bed together where she's snuggled in his side or when he's out and about with Phipps. Making it a personal quest to remind Charmaine of how worthy she is, and he has no doubts in himself that he'll let her down again. He’s confident in his goal.| health
she's sick | As someone who serves the Queen, taking care of the sick was certainly within his skill set. The smallest signs of sickness were caught before Y/N could even tell him that she felt unwell. “You say you're sick, huh? How can I help, dear?" Gets his servants to watch over Y/N while he works. Although he’s busy, he'd make time to at the very least check on how she's doing. Striding in with confidence at whatever remedy he brought in, be it tea or anything else that was questionable. No matter the ailment, he wouldn’t furrow his brows or frown. His smile would always shine bright, assuring her that she’ll feel better in no time and shouldn’t worry about him getting sick. No sickness is strong enough to take him down. When he comes home, though, he gives her his undivided attention. He'll hold Y/N and kiss her on the forehead, telling stories to her. It's very calming, until he brings up his numerous swordfights, then it gets a little rowdy, but funny, nonetheless. “Oh, yeah, Phipps sent this over... I know it looks delicious... Maybe I could have a piece...? Oh, come on, it's a whole pie!" “Her majesty wished for me to tell you she hopes you are better soon, and she wishes to have tea with you when you recover, and yes, of course I'll be there." …He’s now sick but still smiling and on duty!| celebrations
christmas | Every year, Grey makes Y/N a special cake that has cute little messages written in frosting involving things they experienced together that year. The cake often ends up being very big, as he makes sure to add a sweet and dorky love confession to it. Grey thinks Christmas is an important holiday and, as he loves pleasing his partner, makes a conscious effort to pay extra attention when she mentions things she likes. He even has a little notepad. At the end of the year, he’s always torn between the choices, so he tends to spoil her during the holidays.| protective
He gets quite protective of Y/N and would want her to be able to protect herself if something were to happen without him around. Because of this, he may try to teach her how to fence. He'd enjoy contact with Y/N and generally just knowing she's by his side, stemming from his over-protectiveness. This means he'll almost always be touching her in some way — arm around her shoulder, her hand in the crook of his elbow, hand on the small of her back, etc. He'd literally fight anyone who dared to catcall Y/N on the street; she won’t be able to stop him, he’s throwing fists already. And winning!| jealous
When he gets jealous, it’s usually over childish things; her paying more attention to someone else or acting ‘too friendly’ with someone he doesn’t know. He gets possessive when he’s jealous, but in a very childish way. He tends to come up behind Y/N with a pout on his face and wrap his arms around her. The best and easiest way to snap him out of this would be to give him a quick peck on the lips and feed him a few compliments. It would seriously boost his ego so much. Since he's over-protective, Grey would most likely be right beside his partner when it happened. Surprised at the other’s boldness, he might raise an eyebrow but wouldn’t mention it. Although, if the other person continued with their advances, he'd pull her even closer. (if that was possible) joining the conversation and subtly dropping hints that his partner was his — no debating. Because of his intuitive nature, he'd soon understand that the other was aware of their relationship, meaning they were most likely doing this to taunt him. If he was in a bad mood and things went particularly far, he might even challenge them to a duel, seeing it as an opportunity to have some fun and get in some extra training. Y/N wasn't happy about this; she wasn’t a prize to be won. Grey would ultimately win with his very capable fighting abilities and apologize to her, taking her on a date or just going out and about to make up for it.| dates
During the date, he always tells her how beautiful she is and how much he loves her. This guy's astute; he knows all the ways to make Y/N blush, so it will be a long and funny date. He takes her to the finest places to eat something and drink some good tea.| company
Definitely needy and attention-seeking. He’s generally quite joyful and enjoys doing small things with Y/N — may that be cuddling, going on a walk, or just having afternoon tea together. He often prefers to cook with her, joking around by smearing ingredients on her and playing with the food. Sword-fighting with carrots and other vegetables are common.| compliments
He gives out compliments in a very questionable way: “Hey, you don’t look as bad as yesterday~” “Hm, that outfit makes you look less fat than usual!” “Stop feeling so bad about yourself, Charmaine; those other people look uglier than you.” Don’t take it too hard; he’s trying his best! :’)| teasing
Grey teases her often and is amused when she gets flustered easily. Y/N likes to tease him about his hair being the exact same shade of the snow from where she used to live. He tolerates it from her, but if anyone else tries to get in on it, they'll get the absolute nastiest look from him.| social
Going to social functions with him is a must — even if she doesn’t wear a ball gown — and dancing with each other at parties is a fantastic way to get in some discreet affection!| food
The best way for them to bond would probably be through food and cooking — it’ll be interesting and fun to learn each other’s tastes! Grey will eat almost anything if Y/N likes it. There’s no way she’s ever getting his food… Ha. Maybe if she begs asks nicely. ;) Food over Y/N??? Perhaps. ;) Nah, it’s a close tie. That should be a compliment, to be honest. He's not that big a fan of sweets, but he often receives them as gifts for his hard work. Instead of throwing them out, however, he gives them to Y/N and feeds the candy to her personally, enjoying the bonding time and how flustered she gets by his offer.| public displays of affection
He's totally fine with it.| contact
Grey's always up for the back scratching but he’s too ashamed to ask for it, even though he loves it so much. On a tough day, even more than food!| hugging
Grey likes to give surprise hugs from behind.| cuddling
Wants cuddles 24/7 and won't take no for an answer. He's actually the bigger cuddler in the relationship but is often embarrassed about it, so he does it when they’re alone and no one will interrupt them.| kissing
Grey loves kissing her cheeks. The type to finesse Y/N by supposedly sharing food, but when she leans forward, he pulls it back and kisses her instead. ♡ He’d deny her of kisses at any opportunity he could. He’d tilt his head to the side when she tried to kiss him or go in for a kiss only to brush against her lips and pull away, a smirk evident on his face. Though, eventually he'd be a victim of his own actions, the urge to kiss Y/N gradually getting stronger the longer this went on. He’d give in eventually, usually before the day's over.| xxx

Grey puts a hand in front of his mouth as he cums.AFTERCARE
For aftercare, he gets her food, water, and maybe a warm shower if she’s not too tired. Grey cuddles up to Charmaine and reverts back to his playful demeanor, joking and talking until she falls asleep. He’s also adorably cuddly and sleepy with this sly after-sex smile.| xxx

...| pregnancy
Grey's ecstatic about getting Y/N pregnant. While he won’t be a stay-at-home dad because of his royal duties, he'll spend any free time he has with the child and raise them up to be a sword fighter.| mom's sick; dad's turn
“Challenge accepted.” He sees it as a fun thing to try out, taking care of his child alone, and takes onto it with vigor. He has fun and makes the absolute best of it. His child has a lot of fun, too. (He lets them have sweets before dinner!) Grey carries his child around everywhere. His child sometimes cries out for their mother, so he tells them she’s on an adventure in a faraway land and acts out scenes for them, making them laugh in joy. He has no problem alternating between his child and Y/N; it makes him stay active.| halloween
He gets really festive during Halloween; their entire house is a haunted mansion. It gets really funny once he has children since they were so scared of the decorations. (Cora wouldn’t leave her room if someone didn’t go with her, even at night when everyone was asleep. She screamed until Cyril went to the bathroom with her.)Dearest Lady Charmaine,
I find myself in a precarious situation that is greater, even, than the dangers of Napoleon and his conquest of Austria and all its glories. I cannot explain what it is about you that confounds and frustrates me to the very brink of madness. All I know is that since our repartee some six nights ago, you have not left my mind and have, indeed, plagued my senses. With every turn of the hour I think myself in the presence of your laughter; with the bloom of each wisteria flower, I think I have caught scent of your sweet fragrance. You are consuming my sanity and for that, even Bonaparte must bow down to you, gentle lady.I now duel more ferociously than ever before and, last week, injured two knights and a squire — though the former was by choice. Do you see how far your influence extends? Should you ask — should you even wonder — I would cut a swath across Europe and carve you out an empire. Your acumen matches my own, and blow for blow, you topple the gates of Troy with your wit and intellect alone. Your tongue is sharp and the blasé cynicism with which you taunt me has not left my memory. Should I request that you send me your handkerchief? Or would I be unworthy of such a gift? You dislike proprietary almost as much as I (so perhaps you would send me the kerchief of a serving girl, for you do so like to humble me).Your strange alchemy enchants and I fear you have taken me hostage. Lured me to the fairy’s cave and encouraged me to ignore the pale kings and princes, whose cries I cannot hear for there is only you. In all your lovely ardor, regaled in a cloak of peonies and lavender blossoms. I see a lily on thy brow and roses coloring your cheeks — I have never disliked the frailty of women but you seem to defy all sensibility. How dare you be so lovely? How dare you command such beauty? I do not wish to be subjected by anyone or anything — least of all emotion — but it seems that there is no one who can match you for turn of phrase.Must I sojourn to the lake alone and in pain, wondering if you will ever return my heart to me? Damn it all! Why can you not be Caesar, whose conquests ended in Italy? Why can you not be Constantine, who ruled with marble and kept his pace? Why must you threaten the peace and tranquility of my mind and body like a tempest who lives to mock? But — even Napoleon fell and as you have not, you must be greater than Bonaparte himself.Should you be my Joséphine? The woman whose name was the last word of the great emperor?I wish you would free me from this madness so I may cease this foolish fancy. I am beginning to love you and if you do not wish to become Countess Grey, then say so immediately. To keep such hope alive would be cruel and you, dear Charmaine, have proven yourself to be a relentless mistress. With silver and lunacy,C. Grey
