• He kind of acts like he usually does, but without showing his aggressive side as much because he doesn’t want to scare Annette away. He gets upset when she leaves and he doesn’t know where she’s going or she’s leaving for a long time (like to go home); he doesn’t like being far from her. He gives a lot more gifts, too; he tries to tap into Annette’s personality and buy her stuff he thinks she may like. He does a little a little whiny noise when Annette’s attention isn’t on him and he thinks he can’t get it back because ugh, he’s trying so hardddd.
• SHE CATCHES HIM LOOKING: He's probably paying attention as much as Ciel is and spaced-out for the same reason. But unlike Ciel, he’s still aware of his surroundings and hears the moment she says his name, snapping back to reality. He's also very un-phased that she caught him staring because, if he’s honest, Althea's something to stare at; she’s beautiful and he’s so surprised (but relieved) that people don’t actually stare at her when she walks down the street.

OVERCOME

• SHE'S HEAD-OVER-HEELS AND WOULD DO ANYTHING FOR HIM: He feels exactly the same way. This girl is his entire world and the fact that she feels the same is unreal to him. Alois still asks over and over again if she cares about him and if she’ll stay forever. The reassurance does make him feel better, though. Alois tells her that he loves her every single day — usually more. He cuddles with Althea a lot, too. Alois finds it hard to trust anyone, but for the most part, really does trust her. More then anyone else.

• EPISODE: On most days, he adores her. To him, she's the most amazing thing in this world and he looks up to her a lot. It’s only when he has a fit of rage when he gets angry / violent toward her. If Althea were to stay with him, there'd be endless cuddles, gifts, and overall kind gestures, as he feels those are the best ways to apologize (although he’s constantly buying her gifts anyway).
• RAISING HIS HAND: His face would drop and he’d get so upset, turning angry at himself rather than Althea. No matter what she did, he'd never hit her and the fact she’d think he would, he just thinks OMG, I’ve messed up so bad. He starts crying and apologizing to Althea. And he’s crying so hard she can barely understand him. She'll then have to sit him with him on the floor and calm him down; it takes a while, as well. He calms down, but he does that hiccupy thing because he’s actually so sad; he explains to Althea that he feels so, so bad she’d believe he’d hurt her in such a way and then starts crying again. He ends up falling asleep on her because he gets so exhausted from crying and she just sits there until Claude comes in to help her out.

• KILLING HER: He'd cry his eyes out as soon as he woke up; he wouldn’t dare hurt her and he gets even more upset knowing Althea knows something’s wrong because he feels like if he tells her, she’ll leave. Althea coaxes it out of him eventually and he gets so upset and worked-up about it (bless him). He then proceeds to cling to Althea after she tells him that she won’t leave and that it was only a nightmare. Alois stays wrapped around her the whole night even after they fall back asleep and will hold her hand all day while following her around; he just feels safer that way.

• He'll panic, lighting every single candle and lamp in the bedroom and shouting for his butler, ordering him to immediately prepare something hot for Althea to drink. Long story short, waking up with him next to her when having a bad dream can cause quite a chaos in the whole mansion and will most likely end in waking up every single person that's currently there. Demons included. Well, no doubt that such a mess will make Althea instantly forget about the nightmare she had. Having Alois constantly asking if there's anything more she needs and not waiting for her to answer can be quite confusing, especially with his butler giving her more and more things his master wanted. More pillows? Less pillows? Opening the window? Closing the window? Something to drink? Hot? Cold? Something to eat? Anything Althea likes (or not) is served to her at once. After assuring him that everything's fine, Alois will want everyone to leave them both alone so he can make sure that Althea's okay. He'll urge her to tell him about the dream she had out of sheer curiosity, even if he's not the best at talking about things like that and calming her down. Instead, he'll just try to make her forget about it, speaking about the desserts they have to eat now or the taste of the tea and wondering where it's from. If Annette wants to go to sleep again, he'll try his best to not fall asleep at first so she can feel protected. The next morning, Althea may notice the bags under his eyes but he'll deny that he was sitting with her until morning, willing to wake her up if she had another nightmare.

• CRYING: Alois has been through a lot. Let’s say that first and foremost. This boy hates crying. But most of all, he hates seeing Althea crying. It breaks this lil' cinnamon roll's lil' cinnamon roll heart. Alois will hug her really tight. Like, for real, get some pillows between them; he hugs tight as hell. But he only has good intentions. Even if those intentions almost shatter her bones. Alois will give her lots of kisses. Honestly, when he sees her cry for the first time, he’s a little shocked, to say the least. He’s not used to seeing someone as strong as her crying. Nevertheless, he holds Annette like the beautiful and amazing delicate little flower she is. This boy just wants to give her love. Love, love, love. ❣️
• SICK: She might as well be dying; he makes it seem like that. Althea either calms him down or lets him have his dramatics. “I MUST HUG IT OUT OF YOU.” “But won’t you get sick?” “DOESN’T MATTER.” He speaks for her, even if she can still talk. Alois is warm, so Althea’s extra warm if she’s already hot from fever. He feeds her, too. Whatever she can eat, she’s eating; he won’t let her go without eating.
• COUGHING BLOOD: Alois might've screamed like he was the one coughing blood. Althea’s not dying on his watch. Not anytime soon. He starts screaming again and running around, calling for his servants, a doctor, anything, and won’t rest until he finds out what’s wrong. Alois also holds Althea’s hand and pets her head the entire time.
• TORTURED: Alois froze for a moment as his bad memories flashed back in his mind, driving him absolutely mad. Althea’s shrieks are what return him to earth and send him spiraling into insanity once more. He shouts at the top of his lungs, demanding Claude to save her, urging him to hurry up and rushing after her himself. When she was finally out of harm’s way, he took a place beside her immediately and gently cupped one of her hands in his as Claude took care of her cuts. Seeing Annette so beaten caused him to start crying significantly harder than before. He tells her that he'd be lost without her and that her survival is the greatest gift he’s ever received in a wavering voice, gently caressing her hand with his thumb as his sobs gradually fade.
• HOSTAGE: Alois would break down. He'd already lost so much and having Althea stripped away was almost unbearable. Alois would ask all his demons to search for her in a frenzy, barely able to speak through his tears. Once she was found, he'd fling himself at her, still crying. Though he was sniffling and sobbing, his attempt at a grin made it clear that he was more than ecstatic. “Never leave my side again! I don’t know what I’d do without you, so stay!”
• BRUISED: When he first notices, he’s going to get a rush of emotions and assume it was a person; Alois is going to be angry, sad, and a little guilty. (I’m a strong believer of the fact that Alois feels guilty about everything bad that happens to a person he’s around at some point just because his emotional abuse left him thinking that.) If it was just Annette being clumsy, he’ll stop crying / ranting, starting to giggle and calling her silly / stupid for making him worry. If it WAS a person, they’re already dead at the hands of Claude, TBH.
• SCARS: If she decides to show him the scars or he simply finds out himself, Alois will act rather bluntly, saying out loud that it's a shame for such a beautiful human to have a body marked like that. It won’t change his opinion on her, nevertheless. There will be times when he'll suddenly feel a wave of compassion toward her. Don't be surprised if one day he bursts into her room, embracing her tightly and repeating over and over how much she means to him and how he doesn’t want her to suffer ever again. It will demand a lot of patience from Althea, but he'll eventually calm down, expecting promises that she'll take care of herself — at least, for him. If anybody ever tries to leave a comment about her scars, prepare for some random objects to be thrown toward the said person as well as a lot of swearing from Alois’ mouth. He'll apologize later for using such language in front of a lady, but deep inside, won’t regret it and will be willing to do it again if needed.
• APPARENTLY DEAD: This poor baby will physically cry, cry, cry, and won't let go of Althea until Claude removes him. He stays in his bedroom all day crying, hurts Hannah a lot more, and tells Claude to go away whenever he turns up. When Annette reappears, he gets really angry and he’s shouting at her but is still crying so it’s all hiccupy and sad. She just hugs him and he collapses to the floor, clinging to her. He’ll eventually fall asleep, but won’t let go of her at any cost.

• HIS OLD SHIRT: He comes home late that night (he had to host a ball, one that Althea didn’t want to attend due to her being exhausted). Being completely exhausted himself, he plans on collapsing on the couch and feeling something move under him. Alois almost screams and jerks back up, finding Althea lying on the couch in one of his oldest, biggest shirts, looking completely disheveled and exhausted. “Hey. Did I wake you up? I’m sorry,” he whisper-screamed while Althea tried to understand the situation and pulled him back on top of her with an, “I’m glad you’re back.”

• HER BIRTHDAY: Alois definitely gives Althea an insane amount of gifts. He starts the day by trying to make her breakfast in bed but deciding his cooking wasn’t good enough, instead asking Claude to do that part and presenting her with the food himself. He'd go out of his way to throw a huge ball for Althea during the earlier hours of the day, sticking by her side and dancing almost the whole time, only leaving occasionally and returning with flowers and snacks. For the later hours, he'd take Althea out to the town for some fresh air and alone time. However, he'd drag this out for a long time, taking them to several gardens and engaging in bird-watching. When the sun sets, they watch that, staying longer to gawk at the twinkling stars on the black canvas of the sky. Claude would have to locate the lovers and take them back to the mansion by horse carriage where they'd continue to procrastinate going to sleep, instead cuddling and complimenting each other, just talking about the stupidest and sweetest of things until sleep danced into the room and led them to Dreamland.
