DREAMING FOR ART
subversive performance, 2010
Bilbao Guggenheim Museum, Spain
Story goes like this
I travel alone by hitchhiking through Europe. From Portugal to Poland. When I get to Bilbao, an idea for a performance comes to me. I go to the Guggenheim Museum in the evening, when the museum is closed. I find a niche in the side of the building, near the stairs leading to the river. There I am invisible to the CCTV cameras. I set up a lair there and cover myself with a cardboard box that says "Dreaming for art." This is how I spend the night. In the morning I am awakened by a small rain shower and a curious photographer. I ask him to take a picture with my camera as well, so I have one photo documenting my work.
