BLINDWALK is a sense-based happening in which participants are deprived of their sight. The blindfolded audience is taken for a walk through the corridors, staircases and outdoor spaces of a building. Spaces easily recognisable to the eye become distorted and uncanny when experienced without sight. With the aid of non-visual information gathered by the senses, individuals form a new hyper-alert and detailed mental mapping of space, expanding consciousness both inward and outward, embracing space and other beings with extended awareness.
