HYDROSEXUAL HEALING CLINIC (2024)
happening featuring Annie Sprinkle, Beth Stephens, Joy Brooke Fairfield, Justyna Górowska, Ewelina Jarosz, Agnieszka Szpila, Elka Krajewska & Kuba Falk, SPLASH: eco + hydrosexuals unite! exhibition, curated by Agnieszka Rayzaher, Gallery lokal_30, Warsaw, Poland
🐋 The Hydrosexual Health Clinic evolved from a series of Sidewalk Ecosexual Health Clinics created by artists Beth Stephens and Annie Sprinkle. Since its establishment on the streets of Manhattan in 2004, hundreds of clinics have appeared in dozens of cities around the world. The clinics have offered free advice and support to thousands of people, showing new perspectives from sexual educators and ecosexual experts.
🦠 Twenty years later, we organize this special event in Warszawa. The new Hydrosex Clinic marks an important moment in the fight for bodily autonomy and reproductive rights, especially in the context of the denial of legal abortion. It offers an extension of the focus to reclaiming control over our bodies, beyond the human world. The clinic makes the struggles of aquatic animals, who have queer pride but are denied sexual rights, more visible.
🐬 Hydro+ecosexual advocates want to strengthen the fight for a multi-species future, which is why they offer „hydrosexual education” that opposes hegemonic ways of thinking about nature. They introduce play, sensory pleasure and joy, which can help patients to cope and engage with painful environmental issues.
