The shortest route to Malelane is 11km. Malelane is the most southern rest camp with camping facilities in the Kruger Park.
I took a long detour to cover more of the Kruger Park. The S110 and S120 winds through the mountains and eventually up to a lovely viewpoint.
I stopped again at the Afsaal Picnic site which was busy as usual.
Besides the common sightings I saw Rhino on the S118 and Lion on the H3.
I crossed paths with another Land Rover Defender enthusiast, Gavin from Gauteng. We had a long discussion regarding his trip and his love for Defenders. He now drives a Ford Everest.

I had to drive the reception at the Malelane Kruger Park Entrance gate to check-in before heading to Malelane.
This another one of the smaller Rest Camps without a Shop and Restaurant which means it is a lot less busy.
There is a view of the Crocodile River from the camp fenceline. This forms the southern border of the Kruger Park and one can see agricultural farmland on the opposite side.
