I took long detours from the H1-6 along the S52, S142 H14 and H9 to get to Letaba to see more of the Kruger Park.
The detours included the Tshanga Lookout and picnic site, the Masorini Heritage Site and the Red Rocks along the Gubyane sandstone reef on the Shingwedzi River and the Sable Dam Hide that allow people to reserve bookings to sleep-over at the hide.
I took one of the loop roads along the Ngwenyeni River road (H14) and saw a huge herd of buffalo chilling out next to the waterhole. I guess there were over 200.
The Masorini Heritage Site was established during the late Iron Age where the chief and his subjects made Iron from Iron Ore mined in the area now known as Phalaborwa.
The Letaba Camp Site was very busy with a large group of "Wildlife Students" from USA camping the night. Their tented camp occupied a large area designated to this type of camping.
After marking my camp site with a chair, table, water bottle and braaiwood, I took a drive along the Letaba River. I always take a photo of my camp site and belongings before going out with my vehicle. When I returned, the Braai had been taken by another camper. That did not stop me have a good braai.
The camp was very busy and people had to drive around to find a suitable camp site.

A Hyena hoping to find scraps along the fenceline
While preparing dinner a Hyena walked up and down the fenceline about 4 times, within metres of where I was sitting, looking for scraps that campers throw over the fence (THIS IS ILLEGAL AND SHOULD NOT BE DONE).
I spent two nights at Letaba. The 2nd day was spent with laundry and computer work. I sat in the restaurant and worked on my computer downloading and categorising photos and Garmin ttracks. There is no public Wifi at the camps as the Kruger is still negotiating agreements with vendors. The Vodacom connectivity kept toggling between none, H and H+ so I could not update my WEB site.
The camp was very busy with a lot of international tourists and I had to drive around to find a suitable camp site. I think this camp site is the closest to Phalaborwa and therefore is more popular for the tour groups.
The campsite setup and facilities are the same as other camp sites. Common Ablusions, Common Kitchen with Boiling Water, Electricity and Water. Sites are clean and facilities look well maintained.
