Talking with your school's Indigenous educators is one of the best ways to learn more.
There are so many ways to learn more! The number one recommendation is to talk with local indigenous teachers, colleagues, elders and community members.
Read books and articles. You can start with the annotated bibliography which I created to develop this website.
Follow Indigenous leaders, artists, fashion designers, musicians, scholars and educators on social media.
Attend local indigenous Community public celebrations and events of remembrance such as:
National Truth & Reconciliation Day (September 30),
National Missing Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls and 2 Spirit People (MMIWGS+), Day (May 5)
National Indigenous People's Day (June 21),
the SD8 Powwow in May
and many other events throughout the year attend and support important community events such as
Volunteer to help at these events, or to sponsor Indigenous artists and guest speakers in your school or classroom.
