Hands-on

I truly believe that our Kinders learn to be creative by interacting with manipulatives. What better way to introduce coding than to approach it from an unplugged but hands-on activities.

Hands on Coding is a great tactile invention to get younger students thinking about coding. These plastic parts are in the form of traditional visual block codes where kiddos can move them around, join them together and then create unique codes to "run" with their classmates. I like to have the Kinders try and trace around them to for some fine motor skills and then we can make arrows or get help writing words in them. Don't be surprised if your students code some fun noises and dance moves too.
