Essential Beliefs are essential - must haves. In order to be a follower of Jesus, you must believe these things. Essential Beliefs are what we believe about God and Jesus and God's rescue plan for us.
Essential Beliefs About the Holy Spirit:
The Holy Spirit is God.
The Holy Spirit makes us aware of our need for Jesus Christ.
The Holy Spirit gives Christians the power to share the good news, to obey God, and to understand God's truth.
The verses that tell us these beliefs are:
Matthew 28:19-20 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold I am with you always, to the end of the age.
Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control, against such things there is no law.
