Happy New Year! Well, I finally did it. I finally updated the site with pictures!
There are new photos from his 11 months through 17 months on the Photos area. I want to specially note the photo video on when Connor turned one year old by Michelle Clynch, who took our NIMLTDS photos, as they are absolutely wonderful!
We hope everyone enjoyed your holidays; it was over far too soon. We got a break from work, but poor Connor came down with a fever Christmas Eve (of course occurring on a holiday where the doctor's offices are closed for a while). He ended up with RSV and then bronchitis and was pretty sick from then through New Year's. We were very close to spending another New Year's Eve in the hospital, but thankfully he pulled out of his lethargy enough for us to not make a trip to the ER.
He was pretty pathetic for about a week. It was both pitiful and funny (once he wasn't so sick, that is) to watch him ask for water or to lay down. He would point and say "joo!" when he wanted some water and he would turn and pat his pillow when we would sit him up for his breathing treatments because he just wanted to lie down. We had him laying comfortably on a large pillow on a twin mattress in the gameroom, where he could watch TV and everyone bustling about. I think if I had gotten a bell to put next to his makeshift throne, he'd have been sly enough to ring it any time he wanted attention!
He's lost about 10% of his weight, even with us keeping up with his tube feedings and giving him extra fluids. But he was a chunk before this, so luckily he had some extra padding. Now he's looking much better proportioned although I'm glad he didn't lose more weight.
Big brother enjoyed the time home, although he was put under quarantine for several days. We did make a trip to the new Science and History museum, got to see some movies, and spent some nice quiet time together. We worked on the kitchen a bit, visited with family and the many cousins (sans Connor, who had to stay home with Dad) and tried to figure out how 10 days could pass so quickly. There never seems to be enough hours in the day to get stuff done!
Hope everyone enjoys a happy and healthy 2010!
