Today Connor is 11 months old!
He is doing wonderfully and took his very first step on his own yesterday!!! Ok, so it was a very wobbly step and he immediately grabbed my arms afterwards and toppled forward... But it was still a step all on his own! We are wondering if he might just skip the whole crawling thing altogether. He can rotate around in circles and does this awkward, funny push backwards, but no crawling whatsoever. It seems he likes standing best.
His upper body strength still needs some working on, but he loves to jump and hop on his legs. And he stands whenever given the opportunity. Sometimes when we try to have him sit, he straightens his legs out so that he stands instead. Because his arms aren't as strong as we'd like, he can't fully pull himself up to a standing position. He can almost, but not quite, so he gets a little assistance to stand up and then he's off jumping and jumping. We have a jumperoo that he used to love standing in and bouncing. He would bounce and laugh and bounce some more. Lately though, he finds it rather confining and boring. He'd much rather just jump on us.
It's pretty amazing how well he's doing right now. The home health nurses who come weekly to draw his blood for labs call him their miracle baby. We are just glad he's so happy.
