I chose to use ADDIE to design my course. This was extremely helpful since I had to revise between each step. This allowed me to make changes to the overall course as well as made me reevaluate which LMS I would use. I had initially decided that I would use TalentLMS. I have used a wide variety of learning management systems and have yet to use this one, and I wanted to challenge myself by using a system that I haven't previously used. I also currently monitor and troubleshoot our school's LMS Schoology. I thought about using that as my platform, but I don't think it's the most user friendly. However, after using TalentLMS a little more, I found that I did not particularly like the layout, and that it was very similar to Schoology, which I already have extensive knowledge in, so I decided to make the switch to Rise360 since the layout is much simpler and cleaner.
Overall, I really enjoyed my journey through the four instructional design courses offered through EdX. I have learned so much, and have been able to apply that knowledge on my current job setting as well. I hope you enjoy the unit that I have created (it is linked above in the title and down below as the image). It is password protected since there are videos of children in the classroom and I want to ensure that I am following FERPA regulations. If you would like to view the course, please e-mail me for the password.
