I have always been very interested in film, photography and media. I love cinematic details and angles in films, and have enjoyed editing since the moment my sister and I discovered stop-motion when we were kids.

I belive media can convey such meaning and that it can play a huge role in campaigning for change. When I began my media account To Change Our World in 2021, I was a fourteen-year-old who had never been on social media. I jumped head-first into the prime of content creation and taught myself the ropes by observing and engaging with similar channels. I am proud to admit that I am still learning, and my content has come a long way. I refuse to delete older posts even though they might not match my new 'aesthetic' because they show me and my audience the time and growth dedicated to such an endeavour.

Photography and videography have been interests of mine for years, and having the opportunity to pursue these creative outlets at TAFE has been great. The equipment owned by the institution is industry-standard, with entire buildings dedicated to the creation of film and students with unique creativity.

Screen and Media: Photography and Content Creation Certificate III is a three-term course consisting of unit clusters. The tasks have been more challenging for me than Events Management was, as it's all new programs and terminology however I have still passed each one and enjoyed the creative challenges. I completed this Certificate in Term Three 2024 and await my certificate.

Application blurb: the summary I pitched in my application to TAFE

Back in 2021, I began an online project called To Change Our World with the vision of creating an online platform that combats climate anxiety and inspires hope, collaboration, empathy and change within our society. Through this project I research extensively then re-write the information into simple blogs, posts & videos that make big topics easier to understand, share and therefore easier to take meaningful action. As the project grew, I began navigating the online world of trends, content creation, and social media and have discovered that content creation is not as simple as it may seem! Going back a little further, video & photo editing are hobbies I always come back to and have realised I would really aspire to use those skills in a career. Whether that be expanding my project, pursuing my own business, creating documentaries or meaningful marketing and campaigning. I believe film and social media can have a huge impact on how we view the world and would love to learn more!
