Samar

Samar is classified as a 1st class province. They began its partnership with the DSWD KALAHI-CIDSS program in 2006 in the Municipality of Paranas and Tarangnan. As of this date, 3,569 sub-projects have been completed with a total investment of 1,953,738,634.04 from KALAHI-CIDSS funding. Footpath and access trail have the highest number of sub-project completed with a total of 824 (23.1%), as identified by the community as their priority need. While, on the other hand, the Provincial Government of Samar thru its partner municipalities have contributed a total of 331,169,337.42 as their local counterpar contribution to the implementation of KALAHI- CIDSS projects.
