President’s Day occurs February 15th through February 21st. During this holiday, we honor the Presidents that served the United States. We honor our Presidents annually, or in other words every year. Sometimes people mistakenly only acknowledge George Washington, who is not the only president of the United States. The holiday was created because of George Washington’s birthday, however, we honor all Presidents during these few days.
Our government first created this holiday to show respect to George Washington, who led the Continental Army in the American Revolution. He Is known to be the best American politician ever in the United States of America.
Our government requested Mount Rushmore to be carved with the faces of Abraham Lincoln, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and Theodore Roosevelt. This monument represents our respect and honor to the great leaders, even though there are many more than these. This monument was created on October 4th, 1927.
We can honor our presidents in many ways. We can visit Mount Rushmore and salute to the American flag. There are many ways you and your family can have fun and honor the presidents at the same time.
Here is a website where if you have time, you can visit Mount Rushmore for yourself. https://www.nps.gov/moru/planyourvisit/index.htm
