Right now on Youtube, there is a channel called SomeGoodNews. This channel is run by John Krasinski. He has been making videos about good news during this stressful and hard time. One particularly interesting video that I saw was published on April 13, 2020. In this episode, John Krasinski got David Ortiz to talk to nurses in a hospital. Then, they got to go to the Red Sox stadium and throw the first pitch. They were all Red Sox fans so they loved this. Krasinski made this video because it is a feel-good story and it is also very interesting. He wants people to feel happy which is why he is making the videos.

I think everyone should look on the bright side of this situation, being COVID-19. On March 11, 2020, a 103 year old woman fought against the virus and won. She was diagnosed with the disease on March 1,but after the 6 day treatment at Liyuan Hospital, Tongji Medical College, in Wuhan, she recovered. This is good news because that means there is still hope that we can win this war against this virus. I have a strong connection towards this article because I have two very old grandparents and thank god they are safe and healthy but this makes me be even more grateful for them.

I found this article at northjersey.com, which is a news outlet for communities in New Jersey.
It's about an Englewood resident who decided to use her time to create masks for first responders! This article was published on April 14, 2020. It is about Concepcion Diaz, a retired seamstress. The story took place at the end of March 2020. Mrs. Diaz heard about the shortage of face masks in hospitals and she decided to help out by creating masks in her house. I wrote this article because at a moment of fear and uncertainty, this woman stepped up to help the first responders in need. It makes me very proud to be part of a community who came together as one to help one another. In this case, the story is close to me because her grandchild, Christopher, is one of my soccer teammates. The reason he wrote this article is because at a moment of fear in an uncertainty this woman stepped up to help the first responders in need.

I agree that people should stay home in quarantine for many reasons and here is why.
I agree that people should stay in their homes self quarantined because if they go outside they can get the virus. If they have it, they should stay home so that they don’t spread it. The reason why we are staying at home in self quarantine is because it is easier to avoid when you're not out in public with the people that could or do have the virus. This is also why people have to wash their hands as often as they can. I would prefer like 6 times a day. If you don’t want to stay in the house, then you will get consequences, like actually getting it. This is why you shouldn’t touch anybody, keep your distance and wash your hands a lot.

As you may know, this pandemic has caused many places to close down, including restaurants, parks and school. Many kids were supposed to graduate this year but unfortunately can not have a ceremony because of the virus outbreak. In Washington Township, two complete strangers, Amy McCoullough and Gina Malec ,created a Facebook Page called Washington Township Adopt a Senior 2020 where parents, friends, and families get a chance to create posts to support their fellow class of 2020. Also, people can adopt a senior in order to support them academically and emotionally. They also remind the students that they were not forgotten while surrounding them with small gifts and treats. I personally think that what these two girls did is very supportive because they want to make sure kids have a good and safe graduation celebration in the year 2020.
Since quarantine started, a lot has happened and not everything has been good news. Because of that, many people have lost faith and some have spiraled into a deep depression. Even though we are going through some tough times, with some research I was able to find something positive! In the article/video titled “On a Positive Note: NJ Teen Inventor Creates Self-disinfecting Protective Garment”, Mark Leschinsky created a self disinfectant protective garment. He created it after being inspired by a healthcare worker who got Ebola trying to help stop the spread of the disease. This article was posted Mar 14, 2020 1:59 PM EDT, but this happened while in quarantine in the beginning of March or end of April! The author wrote the article now because she wanted to spread hope and happiness during this pandemic! The people involved in this teens good deed was his father. His father encouraged his son at all times and that's how he created the garment. This event happened when Mark Leschinsky was in quarantine at his house and he became determined to help others, so he created the garment. To be honest, my feeling or attitude towards this article and the people involved was positive. I am very inspired by what he is doing. It shows you how much we are together in this! I think that it would be good if more people choose to be like him! He was very intellectual and knew just what to say and do. I’m not sure if I could do what he did, especially in this situation. The reason I choose this article is because someone like Mark deserves recognition all around New Jersey. That way more people can act in kindness or maybe help create more garments. The picture is Mark with a self-disinfecting protective garment.

Kids in New Jersey are making a big difference during the COVID-19 crisis. In Long Valley, New Jersey two kids are bringing a smile to people's faces during the COVID-19 crisis. On a Monday, April 20, 2020, 12 year old Dominic Mercado decided to ask for food at his local soup kitchen. It was the largest donation of food made in years to the Spirit & Truth Ministries kitchen, which makes Dominic and his family thrilled. Dominic even got a shoutout from New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy. Another kid, nine year old Layla DeMayo, learned her teacher's favorite song “Don’t Stop Believing”, which blew her teachers away. One teacher said it means more to him than any gift he has ever unwrapped. Layla said she simply wants to make everyone happy during these hard times.Whether it's connecting through music or turning the spotlight around during a birthday celebration, little gestures are making a big difference. The author of the article thinks that it was a good gesture that kids are doing this.My feelings about this article are happiness because it is really nice to see kids making a difference in this situation.I think it's such a nice kind act that kids are making a difference in this very hard time and they're making it better. It is also very nice that there are many articles about positive stories about the virus.

The article “New Jersey Residents Can Now Pay Their Rent with the Security Deposit” posted on 24 ABR 2020 – 05:00 PM involved Phil Murphy, who is the Governor of New Jersey. Governor Murphy says that data shows that the infection rate is declining and hospitalizations are going down. Governor Murphy announced that he will sign an executive order that will allow tenants to use security deposits to pay their rent. He also reminds landlords, “ If you are a homeowner who has applied for mortgage leniency from your lender, we hope you will extend that relief to your lender, we hope you will extend that relief to your tenants as well”. This shows that he is giving help to other people. This event is relevant so that people do not feel alone and have precaution of things, also to help people and motivate them. I feel that it’s a good way to support people and let them know that they’re not alone, there’s always a bright light and someone that supports them. I think that people feel support from others and I think that they have more motivation to go on now. Finally, I chose this article because despite what we are going through, there is always someone who supports us and who cares about others.
A father named Michael Goldsmith, Age 34, recently exited the Hackensack Meridian Hospital after surviving COVID-19. He was in the hospital for more than a month, until April 18th when he was sent home after being cured from the virus. His family is very grateful that he survived the virus. Many people, including me, are hopeful that there are more people surviving COVID-19 because that means that there is still hope. I chose this article because this shows how families in New Jersey are dealing with COVID-19.

The article was posted on May 07, 2020. The writer of the news story isn't stated, yet individuals, for example, Dr.Phil, were included in the article and even a tweet from the official twitter account from New Jersey. These occasions are going on in New Jersey parks and seashores, seeing that they have opened back up. The parks and seashores were reopened on May sixth. The writer composed this article presently to spread the uplifting news to us. This is on the grounds that with this worldwide pandemic that killed numerous individuals, there's not a great deal of positive energy going on. The author chose to disclose to us some uplifting news identifying with Covid-19 now, so we could receive some pleasant news in return and perhaps light up our day a bit. I appreciate the way that the writer didn't choose to enlighten us regarding the large number of dead individuals yet rather thought about how individuals may be feeling during this worldwide pandemic, and choose to spread the uplifting news, and expectation.
