In this weeks assigned reading, we are given more guidance to write our book reviews. The article begins by explaining what a book review is and what purpose it serves its audience. Typically, a book review is used to provide the audience a quick summary of the book, as well as a rating of the book. Over all, it is author's opinion in the book on whether you should or shouldn't read the book.
A book review is organized into three sections, a brief summary, evaluation, and a rating.
The summary should be short and not give away too many main details (you wouldn't want to spoil it for the readers). The evaluation should answer many questions the audience might have. For example, who is the audience? What is the purpose of the author writing this book? What role does each character play?
Lastly, the book review should come to a conclusion by giving a rating. Would you recommend reading the book? What could use some improvement?
I appreciated reading this article because it further assures me that I am on the right path with writing my own book review.
