This week's reading explains to us the many different ways rhetoric is used in our day to day lives. The first example we are given is when we meet someone for the first time. Typically, we look at house they are dressed, and how the person chooses to present them selves to the world. For example, if someone is in athletic gear, it is safe to assume they work out.
Rhetoric is also projected to us through the many ads and commercials we see daily as well as many other forms of media. Advertisers attempt to sell their product by appealing to the audience emotionally (pathos). Such as beauty products. They claim that if you want to have captivating eyes that everyone will envy then you should use that particular mascara.
All in all rhetoric, is used in many different ways to appeal to an intended audience. It is important to know that rhetoric includes, logic (logos), emotion (pathos), as well as credibility (ethos).
