NEXT EVENT: LAST EVER LEGACY ORDEAL
Welcome to Itibapishe Iti Hollo! We serve the Central North Carolina counties. Your peers chose you to be a part of the Scouting's National Honor Society because they see the growth and potential you bring to your troop and believe that you can do the same for 188.
The resources below are provided to help you prepare for your ordeal. Feel free to contact one of our officers or the Head Elangomat to answer any additional questions.
The Fall Ordeal is one of our most important weekends of the year. As part of our 2026 lodge goals, we aim to bring together 120 new and current members for a strong weekend of service, fellowship, and cheerful leadership.Check-in will begin on Friday at 6:00 PM. Please bring your medical forms.
All Arrowmen are encouraged to attend! Tere are many ways to get involved:
Seal your membership – Complete your Bars and advance your membership in the Order. More information can be found under the Arrowmen Central tab on this website.
Join a committee or team – Cook Team, Ceremonies Team, and other committees always need help. Sign up on the Lodge Committees page
Be an Elangomat – Remember your Ordeal and those who guided you; become that mentor for new candidates. Details are under the Initiatives tab.
Service – Help care for the camp and support lodge projects throughout the weekend.
Your participation strengthens the lodge, supports new members, and keeps the spirit of the Order alive.
Itibapishe Iti Hollo Lodge offers each candidate Three opportunities to take the Ordeal. A candidate has 18 months after the election to take the ordeal; if extenuating circumstances exist, the Lodge Chief or his designee can make special arrangements. Every candidate is inducted into the Order of the Arrow by participating in an Ordeal and its ceremonies. They are conducted in a serious and dignified manner, true to the Scouting tradition. This sequence of events has a deep meaning, and the induction is in no way treated as hazing or initiation. The Order of the Arrow is not a secret Scout organization, and its ceremonies are open to any parent, Scout leader, or religious leader. There is an element of mystery in the ceremonies for the sake of its effect on the candidates, and thus the ceremonies are not performed in public.
Once you are through with the Ordeal, you are now a part of a bigger group; the Order of the Arrow and our lodge, Itibapishe Iti Hollo.
With everything you've learned throughout the weekend, you'll also get to bring home:
An Ordeal OA sash
An official Itibapishe Iti Hollo 188 Lodge flap patch
An event themed patch
The official OA Handbook
Extra bonuses for new members:
