NEXT EVENT: iLEAD Feb 20-22nd
You are taking an important next step in your journey as an Arrowman. Brotherhood membership is sought by those who wish to reaffirm their belief in the high purpose of the Order of the Arrow and their commitment to cheerful service.
By seeking Brotherhood, you are demonstrating that the ideals of the OA, brotherhood, cheerfulness, and service are values you strive to live out beyond your Ordeal. This step reflects your continued growth as a Scout and your desire to further serve your unit, lodge, and council.
Itibapishe Iti Hollo Lodge offers any Arrowman who has been an Ordeal member for at least six months the opportunity to participate in the Brotherhood class and become a Brotherhood member. Every candidate is inducted by taking part in a Brotherhood class and its associated ceremonies. These ceremonies are conducted in a serious and dignified manner, consistent with the traditions and values of Scouting. The sequence of events carries deep meaning and is designed to reinforce the principles of the Order of the Arrow. The Order of the Arrow is not a secret Scout organization. Its ceremonies are open to observation by parents, Scout leaders, and religious leaders upon request. However, there is an element of mystery preserved for the sake of its impact on candidates. For this reason, ceremonies are not performed publicly, allowing each Arrowman to fully reflect on the lessons and significance of the experience.
Once you are through with Brotherhood, you have now made a greater commitment to the order of the arrow and our lodge, Itibapishe Iti Hollo.
With everything you've learned throughout the weekend, you'll also get to bring home:
An Botherhood OA sash
An event-themed patch
