"We typically think of our happiness as dependent on certain good things happening. In the Buddhist tradition, the word sukha is used to describe the deepest type of happiness that is independent of what is happening. It has to do with a kind of faith, a kind of trust that our heart can be with whatever comes our way. It gives us a confidence that is sometimes described as the lion’s roar. It’s the confidence that allows us to say, “No matter what life presents me, I can work with it."

Dear Friends,
It was an honor and a pleasure to share mindfulness meditation practices with you over the last 30 days. I was touched by the community we formed through our weekly meetings and inspired by the sincerity of your practice.
I am grateful for the very helpful feedback many of you shared through the evaluation survey. May I also extend a deep thank you for the donations you have offered to support my teaching. I appreciate your generosity.
I hope the class has helped you form a mindfulness meditation habit that you will continue and build on. Please stay in touch as I can be helpful on your journey.
Sincerely,
Heidi
