Static characteristics can be divided into several types and some of items that will be discussed are.....
ACCURACY
PRECISION
RESOLUTION
EXPECTED VALUE
ERROR
ACCURACY
Accuracy the degree of exactness of measurement compared to the expected value or closeness of the instrument output to the true value of the measuring quantity ( as per standard).
Relative accuracy , A
REaccuracy = (Absolute error / “True” value) * 100%.
PRECISION
Precision a measure of consistency or repeatability of measurement.
In example, successive reading did not differ.
RESOLUTION
The smallest change (or interval) in a measurement variable to which an instrument will respond.
EXPECTED VALUE
The design value or the most probable value that expect to obtain.
SENSITIVITY
Ratio of change in the output (response) of instrument to a change of input or measured variable.
ERROR
The deviation of the true value from the desired value.
--> ERROR IN MEASUREMENT
-->TYPES OF ERROR
GROSS ERROR / HUMAN ERROR
SYSTEMATIC ERROR
RANDOM ERROR
