Play-test Goals
Observe how players are able to use the UI to build in creative mode
See how the players interact with the controls of the game

Introduction (5 min.)
Inform the user that they are testing a game that includes a castle creation editor and explorer mode. The creation editor allows them to build. The explorer mode allows them to move their character around in their building.

The player can do no wrong
We are not judging you
Player information:
The player gets no information on the controls beforehand and figures it out during the play-test
The player is told that he can visit other lobbies or can build his own castle
Player tasks:
Listen and carry out the tasks that the game designer gives them

Tree Testing (20 min.)
The game designer may asks players to do certain tasks if he/she doesn't find it themselfs.
Player finds his own castle
Player goes to the building mode
Player builds a castle
Player walks in exploring mode
Player while spend 18 min in building mode 3 min in lobby's and rooms
The game designer is in the same room keeping watch over the test.
Evaluation (20 min.)
Have the tester fill out the evaluation form.

As a user, I would like an option to invert my camera control
As a user, I would like it if the objects spawn in the front instead of the back

Building Mode
Were some buttons and mouse layouts unclear?
Interacting with objects/ characters was unclear.
Je moet het maar net weten, anders ws het eigenlijk niet te doen. als je tenmiste niet overweg kan met muis en toetsenbord.
People who had trouble with the camera said the following.
Layering isn't explained well to go up the stairs.
Scrolling speed was a bit too fast for my liking.
Draaide steeds naar de verkeerde kant.
People who had trouble with the Destruct mode said the following.
I didn't know you could only destruct items that are in the category you currently have selected. I.e. if you have walls selected, you cannot delete an object other than walls.
If you can change the controls/button layout what would you change?
Toggle tussen verdiepingen als je dubbel muiswiel inklikt, dat je dan dus automatische tussen verdiepingen springt.
The object rotating feels weird, it needs to be more clear what the front is of an item, the current stairs is an example.
My character walked to a completly diffrent space then i wanted to you can misclick easy.
I wouldn't change them.
Ability to rotate objects with the mouse without having to use the keyboard and ability to rotate the camera angle by pressing down the right/left mouse button and moving the mouse.

Were any aspects of the game confusing? If so, please describe.
I had to search for the button to go directly to my castle. Maybe a pop up or a blinking around the castle icon to indicate that it's a button might help?
Sometimes the placement of objects seem off.
I was confused by the way you switch floor levels when building. I accidently put my bed on the grass because I thought I was placing it on the first floor, but I had floor level 0 selected.
De controles, waren soms best lastig. denk dat dit op een console stuk makkelijker was, en eventueel meer als sims controles zou het voor iedereen makkelijker maken.
What parts of the game where strong?
Level of creative output.
most textures look cool, destroy button was easy to use. color coded items that show value is a nice touch.
There where so many options.
Rotating, the number of items, and the visualization of the items.
Easy to place down objects.
Muren en ramen.
What didn't you like about the game?
I couldn't make a secret lair with a portal inside.
That I needed to reselect the walls to put down another set of walls... if I select walls I want to create a square with 1 click.
Multiple floors building is sometimes a bit hard to understand which level your placing objects.
Selecting and placing items was sometimes a bit tricky. I was dragging instead of clicking and that wasn't working. I also found the floor level selector confusing to work with.

My buidling was gone after saving :'(
Really cool! A couple of finesse things that would improve quality of life.
Is wel leuk maar lastig.
World Map
Were any aspects of the lobby confusing? If so, please describe.
Teleported to random places except where I clicked.
Where my castle was and what the colors do.
I wouldn't have understood that I was looking at my own island/castle if I hadn't been told after I clicked 'Go to my home'. I saw multiple castles and didn't know the first one in sight was mine.
Dat ik helemaal uitgezoomd was, dat kan soms best onduidelijk zijn.

The point.
Some UI was a bit unclear to me.
That my castle is outside the world.
I didn't use the world map anymore after going to my own island.

Did you enjoy the music of the game?
Grating and annoying.
Relaxing.
Nice but a bit repetitive.
Super peaceful and relaxing.

Make a song in a major key rather than a minor key, it will seem much less depressing and dreary.
No it's nice I wasn't bothered by it at all.
Ik kan nooit met ingame muziek spelen, word dan vanzelf gek.
Improvements (questions for playtesters who tested before)
Did you notice any diffrences from the previous time you playtested?
Much more options with regards to furniture.
A lot has changed, it feels smoother and I like to be able to interact with some objects that I placed down, also the emotes are a fun option.
Yes there was so much more stuff.

Interface and UI look a lot cleaner.
Yes a lot has the functionality feels better and I like that I can finally build upstairs. UI is still unclear at some points. make buttons stand out more by flashing or hovering.

Visueel, en meer items. Begint al leuk te worden om tijd te investeren om iets te bouwen
Het selecteren van de verdieping met bouwen is toegevoegd
Ik vond het fijn dat je nu een aparte knop hebt om de hoogte in te bouwen, dit maakt het kwa controls makkelijker, ookal is het even wennen in het begin.
Did anything worsen since the last time you playtested?
Music was sadly present.
No that was not the case, some UI objects went through the panel borders I think I didnt see that last time.
placement from objects feels a bit harder but this could also be because there are more options.
