Parking: Please use the Iiyama Station Madarao Exit municipal parking lot (free if less than an hour).

Notes: The event and activities will be conducted in Japanese only.

The Iiyama Station Chikumagawa Exit 30-minute free parking lot will be closed on the day of the event.

To avoid disturbances, please do not use the parking lots of nearby establishments.

Come gather at Iiyama Station for a full day of fun activities! There will be a word hunt with prizes, an exploration party for the trains at Iiyama Station, and an exhibit of the work vehicles used around Iiyama, among many other exciting events. Special train-themed merchandise will also be available for purchase. All ages welcome!

The year 2026 marks the 100th anniversary of the start of the Showa era. The Furusato hall is commemorating this occasion as “Showa Year 101” (using the traditional Japanese counting system) by hosting a series of exhibitions. The fall exhibition is a chance to look back on the daily tools, lifestyle, and entertainment of the Showa era.

Haruka Sasaki is an artist from Iiyama City who is now based in Berlin. This solo exhibition, the first in her hometown, features a collection of abstract paintings that express nature and the energy of life through Japanese-inspired colors and lines that are both powerful and gentle. Please come to the art museum and experience firsthand the passion of Ms. Sasaki, who continues to refine her sensibilities on the global stage.
