This year’s Iiyama Lantern Festival will consist of two parts, “movement” and “calm.” The IIYAMA DANCE FES!! will be the highlight of the “movement” part, where teams will perform their original dance. The “calm” part will feature lanterns made by local students and artists, which will be lined up and illuminated like pathways to the future. The Iiyama Station will also be decorated with artworks created mainly by local high school students with a hope for peace from Aug 2 (Fri) to Aug 18 (Sun).

Seishiro Inose (1937-2023) pursued realistic sculpture of the human body throughout his life, and his creative activities centered on exhibiting his works in the Sculpture Division of KOKUTEN. This exhibition will feature more than 40 pieces of Mr. Inose's works exhibited at KOKUTEN from his early years to his last years.
