Mayudama is made out of rice flour, water and food coloring. It is often made during the New Year, and it is offered to Japanese deities to pray for good health and harvest in the new year. It will harden as the days go by, but it will soften after reheating it. Many people bring it to their local Dosojin Festival to grill and eat it!
