III MALLORCA TENNIS GOLF CHALLENGE ILLOT HOTELS CANYAMEL GOLF

This event is staged and organized by the IC of Spain, Canyamel Golf and Illot Hotels, sponsored by IBATUR, Government of the Balearic Islands.

The purpose of this communication is to ensure that all ICs are aware that they are eligible to enter, although the entry will be restricted to 8 teams only (first 8 to apply and pay accepted).

   FACT SHEET

Competition:  For teams of 6 participants (2 tennis players, 2 golfers and 2 players who play tennis and golf.)

Age-group: 35 and over for the tennis players and tennis-golfers – any age for the golfers only. Max golf handicap scored = 24. Open to Men and Ladies, but please note there will be no separate competition for Ladies.

Format: Seven points to be played combining tennis and golf, with a breakdown as follows:

Tennis: Two singles matches and one doubles match (3 points)

Tennis and Golf: One doubles match in tennis and one doubles in golf (2 points)

Golf: 2 singles matches (2 points)

Date: 13th to 17th of May 2009

Venue: Cala Ratjada - Canyamel, the beautiful eastern coast of Majorca

Event venues: Tennis at Illot Hotels, Golf at Canyamel GC and Roca Viva GC

Thur 14th May, 2009   Competition to start, golf at Canyamel and tennis at Illot Hotels

Fri  15th May, 2009     Competition continues (golf at Roca Viva Golf Club)

Sat 16th May,  2009     Competition continues, Golf Competition final and Gala Prize-giving dinner

Sun 17th May 2009      Departure of the teams

All the players of the IC teams that do not have an official competition on Saturday are invited to play at the Canyamel Golf Tournament.
