Sinclair Community College

Overview of Sinclair's Work in Increasing Diversity in Educators

Sinclair Community College is working closely with local school districts to create pathways for students who may be interested in pursuing a degree as an educator. Together the districts and Sinclair plan for courses that would give students opportunities to gain college credits in vital classes while still in high school. Teacher Pathways or Teacher Academies also involve opportunities for students to tutor, mentor, or work with younger students.

As a community college, Sinclair is also part of the career pathway for students, offering individuals the opportunity to complete critical education requirements before completing their teaching degrees at a four-year university.

Sinclair also offers student cohorts a variety of supports that are critical for individuals who might be non-traditional students or the first person in their family to go to college.
