Welcome to the “QR Code Project,” a unique way to explore the rich history of Webster Village at your own pace. Whether you’re strolling along West Main Street, East Main Street, South Avenue, or North Avenue—or simply stopping at a place that catches your eye—this self-guided experience brings the past to life right where you stand.
By scanning the QR code displayed on participating buildings, you’ll unlock “Now & Then” stories presented in a reverse chronology format. Beginning with the building as it exists today, each step takes you further back in time through historic images and narratives, revealing how the structure—and the lives connected to it—have evolved over the years. Using the present-day streetscape as your backdrop, you’ll gradually step back in time with every scroll.
There’s no set path to follow—explore in any order, revisit your favorite locations, or discover something new with every visit. Whether you experience the full walking tour or simply engage with a single site, each stop offers a meaningful connection to Webster’s past.
This project is created and maintained by the Village of Webster Historic Preservation Commission, whose mission is to identify, register, and protect the historic resources of the Village of Webster. We invite you to step back in time, explore the stories behind the buildings, and see Webster through a new lens.
