After entering through the elegant new entrance gates, about 30 Ramblers met at the Hope Ranch Beach turnaround. There they embarked eastward on an easy stroll with the sun peeking through mottled clouds overhead casting its "God rays." A cool breeze kept them moving at a brisk pace. The low tide presented viewing opportunities for some while others continued toward Hendry's Beach. A few returned to other commitments while most of us gathered at the picnic grounds for an elegant "high tea" comprised not only of many teas and a variety of beverages, but also sandwiches, stuffed dates, a fruit platter, homemade cookies and scones with jams as provided by Roni Frye, Kate Shevitze, Brenda DeTrana, Margie/Mike Reinhart, and Wendy Atterbury. The grand finale was a contest to guess how many pieces of beach glass were contained in Roni's vase — Christina Schowe won the prize!
