We sometimes receive emails and messages, often from students outside our institute or from other cities, who are interested in joining our research activities and want to know about opportunities, particular projects, or whether there are any specific requirements to become a member. To make the process clearer and more helpful for prospective students, we’ve prepared this page to outline what we look for in potential members and to address some common questions.
What we value in potential lab members
At HOPE Lab, we want to work with students who are curious about research and committed to upholding high standards of integrity and ethics. Strong communication skills in both Bangla and English especially in scientific writing, are valuable for our work. We also appreciate students who share proactive and timely updates. Most importantly, what matters to us is genuine interest and dedication to learning and research. While a strong GPA can be helpful, we believe enthusiasm and commitment matter even more.
Common Inquiries
Location: Our lab is based in Chattogram 4331, and since we are primarily a wet-lab, it is generally best if students are located nearby. That said, we’re also open to remote collaboration when feasible. If you can contribute through data analysis, bioinformatics, computational analysis, or scientific writing, there are opportunities to engage with our research efforts, though working remotely may sometimes be more challenging.
Financial support: Currently, we do not provide direct funding for research students. We encourage eligible candidates to explore external fellowship opportunities that may be available.
Current projects: A list of our ongoing projects can be found here. Feel free to reach out to us via email, message, or phone to discuss potential opportunities in these or related areas. We strive to create a supportive environment where students can pursue collaborative and independent research initiatives under the mentorship of experienced lab members.
