This is the -ic sound
Generally, when a word ends with the /ic/ sound we can make this with /ick/ or /ik/
For words that have one syllable (eg. pick, muck, sock), we use the -ck sound
For words that have multiple syllables (eg. angelic, poetic, volcanic), we use the -c sound
This week you will focus on mutli syllable words that use the -i- vowel
Synthetic Inquiry: Create a list of 1, 2 and 3 syllable words (6 words for each) that show the -c and -ck sound. Use words that do not have an i in the them. Challenge yourself to think of the words in your head or use technology to support you.
