This is the db+ing rule
When adding the suffix -ing to the end of a word we need to use look at the last two letters
If a word ends with one vowel and then one consonant, and the vowel is a short sound (/a/, /e/, /i/, /o/, /u/) then we need double the final consonant before adding -ing
