The story's protagonist. Born and raised in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, she lives with her parents and younger brother . She has strained relationships with her family and classmates. She was held back a year after experiencing long-term mental health issues and leads an antisocial lifestyle. 

Since the age of 13, Rovio has been seeing a psychotherapist; in 2009, after a long period of remission, he began experiencing sudden memory lapses and sleep problems, which forced him to resume therapy with Dr. Kaedogan .

She doesn't like to talk about her problems directly, finding relief in therapeutic drawing. Despite her apparent coldness, she loves her loved ones but doesn't want to bother them, so she distances herself by getting involved with Doug's group . Despite everyone's denials, she's convinced she's being falsely accused of drug use and is being treated for a non-existent illness.

Rovio's life becomes more complicated when a wave of mysterious murders hits the city, a new investigator looks at her unkindly, unknown cars appear in the area, and her reflection in the mirror no longer syncs with her actions.
