Regna became home to all the sleepy clones of humanity, being the reverse side of non-physical reality.
Regna has no clear boundaries, and they are impossible to find: the landscape changes every night, remaining constant only in stable zones. Its "air" is highly diluted, giving creatures elongated limbs and tall stature. The reduced gravity varies depending on the terrain, allowing humans to practically levitate.
Most of the population worships Regna, attributing to her an almost divine influence. Some, however, often complain of a difficult life and problems associated with instability. Regardless, the dream world remains a free place, where people have the power to change not only their own selves but also their surroundings, depending on their own strengths.
For many years, the Citadel has been a haven for most of the community's residents. Situated in the most stable zone, it remains unchanged, allowing for the safe and comfortable location of a school, a hospital, and a headquarters for the defenders.
A community is a group of people from a single geographic area, existing in the dream world and interacting only with each other. It can span up to several states, occasionally intersecting with other communities if the boundaries of their physical counterparts are close.
The local community, police, and administrative structure, created to ensure a comfortable life for the Ants, grew out of a small commune in the Citadel. It rescues, educates, and provides food for the community's residents, conducts charity work, trains new members of the Defenders, and exterminates ornates. The SRD often faces protests from those who are dissatisfied with the restrictions in a world where rules as such do not exist. This is especially true as the SRD expands, spreading its ideas throughout the community.
The leaders of the defenders are not given names, but rather assigned numbers. After the death of each leader, a new one is appointed in their place, rotating their number. Before this, the future leader is ritually killed, erasing their memories of the past.
The SRD is not an official body, as there are no states or social systems in the dream world. Regna's landscapes are constantly changing, and if a person is not in a stable zone, they may wake up in completely different places.
Regna's people, the Antes, are dreamlike copies of real people in our world. When the "original" dies, the Ant dies, and vice versa. Both people are connected, sharing some memories, personality traits, and preferences, but they are different people.
An Ant can kill another Ant without harming the Earth clone, but upon reawakening, some of the Ant's memory will be lost. With frequent "deaths," the Ant's condition will deteriorate excessively, leading to cognitive distortions in the physical world.
The clones "sleep" while humans are awake and wake up when they go to bed. Sometimes, ants can stay awake for days, but their productivity declines and they may sleep for days. Humans in the physical world do not dream during this time.
Regna's people take names different from their real ones: names of animals and plants, numbers, common nouns, company names, or names derived from the residual memory of a real clone. Most often, the name is given by other members of the commune.
The dream world is full of mysteries that humans are unable to unravel. Rewbolts are one such anomaly.
They have no clone and are not part of the human community. People are suspicious of rewbolts, particularly because of their appearance, although they pose no particular danger. Also, prolonged exposure to rewbolts can cause malaise, convulsions, nausea, and dizziness.
There are theories that nightmares are a physical compilation of residual human thoughts, feelings, and fears, but the rewbolts themselves consider themselves a distinct race that emerged in the dream world before humans. No one knows the truth.
The Rewbolts' homeworld lies beneath the lands of Regna, where most nightmares reside and rarely leave. They see no color, only texture and movement, and communicate primarily through echolocation.
Natural "cleaners." Ornates are considered predators of Regna, the only natural enemy of humans. In addition to hunting ants, they often "cleanse" their territories of other spiders.
Ornates are also clones of humans. A person in our world remembers their role in the dream world, but usually keeps a low profile for fear of being exposed. Spiders typically live in the lower reaches of the Regna, as they remain virtually unchanged from night to night. They prefer dark, secluded places, live alone, and often leave their offspring. Spiders often inherit their role from direct descendants, and this lineage persists until the person in the physical world stops reproducing. Many move to other states or countries to avoid harming loved ones.
Spiders can't stop eating people; it's the basis of their existence. But very often, the physical need for food arouses sadistic tendencies in them.
In many cultures, sleep is associated with the afterlife. There's a fine line between Regna and "eternal nothingness," and sometimes it's broken.
In the gorges of the rocks, under meters of water, and in the lower reaches, special "passages" appear —dry spaces, always with rooms and a mirror —through them, people can see the inside of the inside. Into eternal nothingness.
EVERY PERSON SEES THEIR OWN VERSION OF DREAM REALITY, WHICH MEANS WE SEE THE DREAM WORLD ONLY THROUGH THE PRISM OF ROVIO AND HONE
