Danielle (Dani to her friends) moved to Manitowoc with her father, Christian, after his divorce from his wife. Dani grew up a withdrawn girl, restricted by her domineering surgeon father. Rovio became Danielle's first friend, and she sometimes feels overly attached to her due to her long years of loneliness. Rodger is Dani's godfather.

She can't resist her father's desire to raise her to be a doctor, instead acquiescing to his decisions, but secretly she's drawn to art. Modest and thoughtful, Dani is a romantic, shielded from the harshness of the world by her father.
