An investigator who came to Manitowoc to work on a series of mysterious murders. Dean was born in a small New York town and later worked in the state's largest city, which, coupled with his age, has led to prejudice among the locals.
Dean doesn't like to show insecurity or weakness, trying to be friendly and gain the townspeople's trust. Behind his apparent frivolity, Dean is an unconventional and innovative investigator, literally latching onto suspects and studying them down to the smallest detail. Thus, Rovio becomes his primary target.
No matter how hard he tries to hide it, Rondo becomes attached to those who show him attention. Thus, Rodger became not just a colleague for Dean, but a friend, as Dean himself believes.
He has a pathological fear of death, compensating for it by working in investigative bodies.

An unknown individual found in the vicinity of the Citadel in late 2009. His full name is Tamam Shud II . The name was given by community members after a similar reappearance of the original "Tamam Shud," who had disappeared six years earlier. He was found emaciated and wrapped in bandages.
His body was fragile and took a long time to recover, as it continues to do to this day. His bandages are fully functional organs.
Shud doesn't remember his origins, but considers the Citadel to be Regna's best place, gradually learning the community's way of life and culture. At the same time, he begins to remember, and the more he remembers, the clearer Regna's desire to erase the echoes of his past becomes.
