With the increasing opportunities of the internet and digital driven solutions, health related information and digital support has become easily accessible for health care users and health care professionals. To benefit from this, an adequate Digital Health Literacy (DHL) is required to select, evaluate, and apply health-related information from electronic resources to make responsible decisions regarding their own health.
We have developed different learning activities that aim to improve the physiotherapists and clients competencies to benefit from digital solutions in an optimal way.
In two different lectures, we introduce DHL and the main construct. Furthermore, you get to know what impact DHL has on health behavior and how you can assess the DHL-skills. In addition, we explain what you should take in consideration to provide effective DHL in physiotherapy practice. You will also learn what technologies can be embedded into the client journey with regard to client’s condition.

In addition, we provide different learning activities that improve practical skills of physiotherapists to support their clients digitally. One learning activity includes a description of a role-play and a respective case description.
Note: Several learning activities that support DHL can also be combined with learning activities that support HL. However, some cases are also listed in the section "Improving Communication Skills", note that the cases here have been modified in relation to the exercise.
