Payers and Providers

The variety of providers defies easy analysis. Licensure is one perspective, from the Department of Regulatory Affairs. There are practitioners and there are payers, those who make up the health insurance industry. This is effectively a question of who's who, such as:

• Licensed practitioners, including malpractice accountability
• Licensed practices and organizations, including the oversight of licensure standards and compliance
• Health insurance organizations, including self-insured businesses

Beyond the who's who, there is a question of utilization and quality reporting and validation:

• Hospital metrics
• Physician and Clinic data
• Claims data, particularly the All-Payer Claims Database (APCD), managed by CIVHC.
