Comparisons to other countries is a natural exercise to undertake. A holistic data set is imperative. Data sets can be downloaded, converted to pivot tables and spruced up with quintiles of each metrics and indexing. Users can click on the Excel file, Select their desired country, or compare selected countries side x side, and print the report in pdf for easy distribution to stakeholders. The Canadian Institute for Healthcare Improvement (CIHI) assembles an annual report that can be instructive,. Worth pointing to the discipline of data collection: Within 10 days from the end of month, facilities forward data to Provinces. Within 7 days, Provinces forward data to the CIHI. CIHI publishes data for public review within 3 days, so all data sets are available to stakeholders almost concurrently.
