Boone spent his early years in Albin, a remote village in Celyste, where he lived comfortably with his parents. That life ended when a newly formed militia attacked his family’s manor after rumors spread that they practiced dark magic. Boone survived the fire, but his parents did not. He was rescued by Lionel, leader of the famed mercenary group known as the White Lions.
Lionel took Boone in and raised him as his own son. In time, Boone came to see Lionel as a father and the White Lions as his family. He grew especially close to Caspian, another orphaned boy, and the two became best friends while dreaming of following in Lionel’s footsteps. Boone also looked up to Ariel, Lionel’s daughter, whom he came to regard as a sister and role model.
During the Celyste-Ametona War and the events of Prelude I, Lionel entrusted Boone with leading a small team to the remote village of Rinto. What began as Boone’s first mission soon pulled him into a much larger conflict involving the war, a mysterious cult, and the legend of the Lonely Mirror. After Lionel’s disappearance, Boone followed that legend in the hope of finding him.
Despite his inexperience, Boone rises to the challenge as a mercenary leader. He is determined, sincere, and increasingly calm under pressure, though he still has the occasional outburst. Boone relies on trusted allies like Ariel, Myles, and Joseph for guidance, and his greatest strength is his heart. He values life above profit and will go out of his way to save someone, even when there is no reward.
Boone is a compassionate and determined young mercenary who places the well-being of others above his own interests. He believes every life has value and consistently chooses to help those in need, even when doing so offers no reward. His strong moral compass and willingness to fight for others make him a natural leader, though Boone rarely views himself that way.
Despite his bravery, Boone is often burdened by responsibility. Following Lionel's disappearance, he constantly worries about living up to the standards of the White Lions and fears letting those who depend on him down. This pressure can make him overly serious, causing him to focus so heavily on his duties that he forgets to take care of himself.
Boone is also more observant than he initially appears. While he can seem straightforward and occasionally naïve, he often notices things about others that they believe they have hidden. He is a patient listener who takes the struggles of his companions seriously and is frequently willing to offer support, guidance, or reassurance when they need it most.
Perhaps Boone's defining trait is his refusal to surrender to despair. Whether confronting impossible odds, challenging fate itself, or helping others overcome their pasts, Boone consistently believes people can choose a better future. His optimism inspires those around him and allows him to unite allies from vastly different backgrounds. Though he begins his journey as an inexperienced mercenary, he gradually grows into the leader that others already believe him to be.
Part 1: Boone joins the party automatically in Prelude I as member of Leah's party.
Part 2: Following the events of Chapter 10, Boone automatically rejoins in Chapter 11 and becomes the primary protagonist for the remainder of the story.
Starting Class: Pikeman (Lance)
Promotion: Champion (Lance / Axe)
Boone is the main protagonist in the second part of the game and is a forced unit the majority of maps he is available. Boone has very good growths in HP, Power, and Defense, and he will also have respectable Skill and Speed most of the time. With all around good offense and defenses, this makes Boone able to fill a role similar to an armored knight, except without the armor or movement penalties. Although his Luck starts off shaky, Boone will usually accumulate enough over the course of the game to avoid critical hits from most enemies. His weaker Luck can also be supplemented through a Goddess Icon, his natural Ice affinity support bonus, or the Amulet equipment.
Boone is the only character in the game with three personal weapons: Milarepa, Onouris, and Sharur. Milarepa serves as Boone's signature lance and is effective against mounted enemies. Later in the game, Boone receives either Onouris or Sharur depending on the player's choices during the Jacotta arc. Both weapons are effective against mounted and armored enemies, but fill different roles. Onouris functions similarly to an Axe Reaver, allowing Boone to reverse the weapon triangle against axes, while Sharur is a powerful personal axe that emphasizes raw offensive power. Together, Boone's exclusive arsenal gives him exceptional flexibility throughout the game.
Boone's promotion is story-driven rather than player-controlled, and Boone automatically promotes at the end of Chapter 19 regardless of his level. While this removes the strategic choice of when to promote, his transition into Champion comes with excellent stat bonuses and grants him access to axes, significantly expanding his combat options. Combined with his impressive promotion gains and exclusive weaponry, Boone immediately becomes an even more formidable front-line unit.
Overall, Boone is one of the strongest and most reliable units in the game. His near-perfect availability, excellent all-around growths, powerful personal weapons, and outstanding promotion bonuses allow him to remain relevant from the beginning of Part 2 through the final chapter. While his growths can occasionally leave him weaker than expected in certain areas, Boone is remarkably easy to patch up with stat boosters or support bonuses. Even if he were not a forced deployment, Boone's consistency, versatility, and exclusive equipment make him a unit that most players would gladly field until the end of the game.
Boone is a young man with sandy blond hair, blue eyes, and an athletic build shaped by years of mercenary training. He is most often seen wearing light blue clothing and a distinctive red cloak draped across his shoulders.
Boone's appearance changes noticeably throughout the story. During Part 1, he is clean-shaven and retains a youthful, somewhat boyish appearance. By Part 2, he has grown a beard and developed a broader, sturdier build that reflects the years of hardship and responsibility he has endured. While not the most imposing warrior among the White Lions, Boone carries himself with a quiet confidence that naturally earns the trust of those around him.
In Boone and Silvan's special ending, Boone eventually adopts many of Silvan's habits, including a fondness for beer. Boone is implied to gain a significant amount of weight during his retirement years.
Boone is the protagonist of Fire Emblem: The Lonely Mirror.
After Boone joins the party, he is with you for the remaining chapters in the game with the only exception being Prelude III and Chapter 26x. This makes Boone one of the most available party members in the game. He is tied with Caspian and Myles for most available chapters.
