Taro has a very complicated personality because of their life. They're pretty agreeable and easy to work with, but they also have a hard time trusting people. They stand their ground and are very closed-in unless they have a really close relationship with someone. They also don't just do whatever people want them to; they try really hard to not let people step all over them. Some members describe them as snarky, which isn't wrong. Despite all of these things, most people on the Council really enjoy Taro and consider them their friend. Taro feels that they've found a family within the Council who can support them despite some of their instability. This positive influence has encouraged them to enjoy things they couldn't since the ties to their abuser have been broken and remade with people who treat them right. 

Taro was eventually able to leave behind a lot of their trauma in their life over time, but it still comes to haunt them because of Hibiki. He spends a lot of time mocking them and making light of their abuse or indecorous life. This has led Taro to process Hibiki as someone to be afraid of, that he might do something like their abuser once did. It haunts them in every interaction. While they've learned to exist with Hibiki without being in complete fear, this still affects them and their ability to interact with others. They've also had to overcome a lot of difficulty regarding their gender identity. While alive, they still didn't really have everything figured out. It didn't help that people would call them a girl/act as if they were one in a derogatory way. So even though they tend to identify with more feminine traits, they dislike being considered a girl/girly due to their trauma. This has slowly started to heal in the past couple of years.
