Represented by the color blue, Jaya Kaur is almost like a mother to the Council. She's been on the Council for 7 years and her main jobs include:
Keeping data: She keeps up with the numbers when it comes to the Ghost Universe. How many Ghosts are there? How many are in each realm? How many are a part of the lowlands? How many mini ghosts are available? etc.
Checking for abnormalities: If anything is out of the ordinary she will keep a record of it and send No. 2 to check (or check herself) if it is still occurring every once in a while. If it isn't getting better, they'll hold a meeting to figure out how best to assess it. Or, if it does get better, she has to figure out why.
This is not a part of No. 6's normal jobs, but she tends to do a lot of Hibiki's work where she can. That's supposed to be No. 7's job, but since Taro doesn't get along well with Hibiki, she ends up doing it herself.

Jaya can best be described as a mother. She treats most of the Council as if they were her kids. She is also a very wise woman—she's able to help people with many different things and give great advice. These traits are mainly because she had four kids, and she was a literature teacher for many years. Due to her occupation, she encountered many different personalities and found a way of dealing with people. She is by far the most professional and organized person on the Council, but she still has her own struggles. She makes herself do a lot more work than she can handle which tends to stress her out. She also feels very disconnected from the other members since she is a lot more mature. This makes it very hard for her to connect with the others, and often leaves her feeling alone. Luckily, Eloise and Sun have become very close with her and are able to pull her from her intense work schedule for a nice break.
When she isn't working, you'd find her with Sun and Eloise drinking tea. Other times she'll be reading a book from her very long TBR list. While she likes classic works, she won't turn down Eloise's suggestions for various cheesy romance books that she could sob over. Since she is so quiet in doing her job, she is often overlooked in the Council, but she is the glue that keeps the Council from utter chaos.
