Wind spinner.
While I was a STEM teacher (Science, Technology, Engineering, & Math) at East Lee Middle School in Sanford, NC I had some of my students make wind spinners as a mass production project. They learned some basic woodworking skills with the band saw and drill press. They also learned about problem solving, elements of design, glue methods, and simple painting (if they chose to paint their project). One or two of these spinners made it into the administrator's hands (Dr. Williams, Ms. Brewer, and Ms. Littlejohn) and my most excellent co-teacher Mrs. Barbour. I had a wonderful experience at East Lee, and worked with a great staff. Go Rockets!!
