Clock

The clock was something my wife (Karen) wanted. She asked that I create a wall clock that shows the wall behind it, that had a "rustic" look to it, and had no numbers. This was a challenge I could not pass up. I was sneaky on this. I knew she wanted a round clock, but to make it properly I would need a "new tool". That tool was a circle cutting jig from Rockler's wood working tool store. Go get it she said :-) Please note, I am not advertising this company, BUT, they do have a LOT of the tools I have used to create many of my projects.

The clock is made from rough sawn cedar siding. The color is natural. I used the circle cutting jig to cut out the large backing circle after I glued up several pieces of material to form a wide plank to make the inner circle. I then spaced out the front slats on the cut circle and trimmed them to the same size as the back. The hole used for the circle jig was used to determine the placement of the clock works.
